WHAT IS RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING?
Respirator fit testing is a critical safety procedure designed to verify that a tight-fitting respirator provides an effective seal on the wearer’s face. A proper fit ensures that airborne contaminants such as silica dust, asbestos, welding fumes, diesel particulate matter (DPM), and infectious aerosols are effectively filtered out.
As per Safe Work Australia and WHS regulations, fit testing must be conducted:
